A lawyer by training and a federal lobbyist in a previous life, Jennifer Searfoss is bringing her 15 years of experience in grassroots activism to her professional and civic work.

As part of her ongoing political and campaign work, Jennifer also was featured in "She's Out There: Essays by 35 Young Women Who Aspire to Lead the Nation: The Next Generation of Presidential Candidates" (2009; LifeTime Media; ISBN-10: 0981636845). With the help of the market research firm Fresh Perspectives and the nonprofit organization The White House Project, the She's Out There! editors collected essays from hundreds of young women nationwide who want to be president. Hailing from 20 states and diverse races and socioeconomic backgrounds, these women voice opinions from across the political spectrum. Their essays reveal what drives the political ambitions of a younger generation of American women - and reveals their vision for our country.

The book details how in 2004, Jennifer appeared on the primary ballot. Putting her feet to the pavement and meeting voters, she waged a local campaign for one of three seats. Receiving over 4000 votes, Jennifer was elected to the Anne Arundel County (Maryland) Democratic Central Committee. However, due to a family illness Jennifer gave up her seat and moved out of state.
